HIV cannot be transmitted through:

  • Casual, everyday contact;
  • Shaking hands, hugging, kissing;
  • Coughs, sneezes;
  • Giving blood;
  • Swimming pools, toilet seats;
  • Sharing eating utensils, water fountains; or
  • Mosquitoes, other insects, or animals.
